NORTHWEST — A new carryout barbecue restaurant T-Mo’s BBQ Pit debuted in late-May serving ribs, chicken, and pork chops with all the fixins. This spot also features Peteet’s Cheesecakes for dessert. Status: Certified open. 7401 W. McNichols.

MIDTOWN — A high-end, all-day diner called Babosoft-opened on July 13 with brunch service. The restaurant, located in the Park Shelton building near the Detroit Institute of Arts, took over space previously home to Park Shelton Pizza and Detroit Pizza Company. The menu features options like chilaquiles, Greek salad, and lamb sausage omelettes. Status: Soft open. 15 E Kirby St, Suite 115.

DOWNTOWN — Michigan & Trumbull, a Detroit-style pizzeria owned by metro Detroiters and founded in Pittsburgh, is now popping up inside Fort Street Galley. The owners, who are planning to open a larger location in Corktown later this year, serve square pizzas with gourmet toppings and items like antipasto salad. Status: Certified open. 160 West Fort St.

FERNDALE — Babylon Garden has opened in Ferndale serving Middle Eastern dishes including shawarma, falafel , and saj flatbread sandwiches. Status: Certified open. 23250 Woodward Ave.

CORKTOWN — After a brief hiatus due to licensing issues with the city, soft serve stand Cold Truth returned over the weekend inside Grandma Bob’s. The brand drew long lines for its waffle cones filled with vegan tart cherry, vegan chocolate deluxe, lavender, and sweet cream flavors. Status: Certified open. 2135 Michigan Ave.SOUTHWEST — Nearly three years after long-standing Mexicantown restaurant El Zocalo closed, the Mexican restaurant has reopened under the ownership of controversial landlord and restaurateur Dennis Kefallinos. Status: Certified open. 3400 Bagley St.

DOWNTOWN — An Asian-influenced restaurant and bar Pao Detroit opened in mid-June serving items like crispy tuna tacos, rock shrimp in chili-garlic sauce, sashimi, and diver scallops. Status: Certified open. 114 W Adams Ave. Ste. 200.

FERNDALE — A new Brooks Brewing taproom debuted at the end of June along Woodward Avenue with 25 handles and a “flat rate sipping” format where all beers are priced at $6 with the size of the pour varying based on the style of beer. Status: Certified open. 22925 Woodward Ave.

MIDTOWN — A new Nepali food stall called Momo Cha is now serving meat and vegetarian dumplings inside Detroit Shipping CompanyStatus: Certified open. 474 Peterboro St.DOWNTOWN — The first Detroit location of Plum Marketopened at the beginning of July inside the Ally Building. The smaller, city-style marketfeatures a massive prepared foods section with a hot and cold bar, a cafe, and a bar serving beer and wine. Status: Certified open. 500 Woodward Ave.

ANN ARBOR — The latest Michigan outpost of Shake Shack debuts on Monday, July 15 in Ann Arbor with Shack burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled hot dogs, and frozen custard concretes. Status: Certified open. 3030 Washtenaw Ave #107.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Cadillac Straits, a Madison Heights-based brewing supply store and microbrewery debuted in the spring, but is finally rolling out its food and beverage components this month. An official grand opening celebration is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. Once completely open, the business will offer beer, wine, mead, cider, kombucha, and other fermented drinks. Status: Certified open. 27651 John R Rd.

PONTIAC — The owners of shuttered restaurant concept the Menagerie, have returned to their roots with the opening of a bakery called April’s Famous BakesStatus: Certified open. 518 West Huron St.

GROSSE POINTE PARK — A new spot for honey wine called Recolte Meads is now open in Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Times reports. Owners Rana Jundy and Julijana Simjanovski opened their mead tasting room in April. The meads are produced in Sterling Heights and transferred to bottles and cans for purchase at the Grosse Pointe Park address. Status: Certified open. 15308 Kercheval Ave.CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Instagrammy Hong Kong bubble waffles franchise Bubbleology recently debuted at the Mall at Partridge Creek serving gelato in bubble waffle cones with toppings like Pocky and fresh fruit. There’s also bubble tea including milk tea and “cream crowns” (AKA cheese tea). Status:Certified open. The Mall at Partridge Creek, Suite 141, 17420 Hall Rd.

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP — The first Michigan location of celebrity chef Fabio Viviani’s casual trattoria chain Bar Verona opened on Monday, July 1 in Commerce. A second location is heading to Washington Township in August. The menu features options like brick chicken, orecchiette, spaghetti and meatballs, and more. Status: Certified open. 500 Loop Rd.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A vendor at farmers markets in Birmingham and Royal Oak has opened pierogi storeDobre Pierogi features pierogi filled with steak-cheddar, potato-cheddar, potato-onion, and sauerkraut. Status: Certified open. 48899 Hayes Rd.

WYANDOTTE — A new bar and grill called Major Biddles debuted in Downriver in April. The restaurant features a salad bar, chicken and waffles, burgers, frog legs, and more. Status: Certified open. 930 Biddle Ave.

ROYAL OAK — There’s a new ramen restaurant in Royal Oak. Kaizen Ramen open in mid-June with a variety of ramen options ranging from miso paitan broth to shoyu chintan. Customers can also expect karaage chicken, green noodle salad, pan-fried gyoza, and more. Status: Certified open. 411 S Washington Ave.ANN ARBOR — Ever-expanding metro Detroit franchise Poke Pokeadded a new location in Ann Arbor in mid-June selling fast-casual, build-your-own poke bowls. Status: Certified open. 312 S State St.
